I, Satyabrata Sahoo, was born in the peaceful village of Urali, Mandasahi, Jagatsinghpur, Odisha. Life in my birthplace was filled with the purity of rural Odisha — the green paddy fields, the serene village ponds, and the warmth of simple living shaped my personality from an early age.
I was born into a respectable and loving family. My father, Late Govinda Chandra Sahoo, was a man of deep values, discipline, and hard work. Although he is no longer with us, his teachings and moral guidance have been my guiding light throughout my life. My mother, Saraswati Sahoo, a woman of patience, kindness, and dedication, has been the strength of our family, nurturing all of us with unconditional love.
I grew up with two brothers — Debadatta Sahoo and Subhakanta Sahoo. Together, we shared countless childhood memories — from playing in the muddy fields during rains to studying under the dim light of kerosene lamps at night. Our home was modest but always full of affection and warmth.
From a young age, I had a natural inclination towards learning. The values of discipline, respect for knowledge, and dedication instilled by my parents encouraged me to excel in academics.
After completing my schooling, I pursued higher studies with determination. My passion for knowledge ultimately led me to achieve the M.Phil. degree from Utkal University, Odisha — a proud moment in my academic journey. Education for me has never been just about degrees; it has been about empowering myself to help others grow.
Teaching is not just my profession, it is my calling. I chose to work as a teacher because I firmly believe that education is the most powerful tool to transform society. Through my career, I have taught not only subjects from the textbooks but also values, ethics, and life lessons.
In my classroom, I strive to make each student feel valued, respected, and inspired. My work has been deeply fulfilling, and it has been my privilege to shape the minds and futures of countless students over the years.
I am happily married to Jyotirmayee Sahoo, my life partner, well-wisher, and source of strength. She has stood beside me in every challenge and celebrated every success with me. Together, we have been blessed with two wonderful sons — Shaktiswarup Sahoo and Swadesh Gourav Sahoo. Watching them grow and guide themselves with good values is one of my greatest joys.
Family has always been the core of my life. My brothers, my wife, my children, and my extended family members have been a constant source of encouragement in my journey.
My work and dedication in the field of education and social values have been recognized at various stages of my life. I have had the honor of receiving two prestigious awards:
Swami Vivekanand Adarsha Ratna Award – in recognition of my work towards inspiring students and community members with ideals of discipline, service, and moral strength.
Rabindra Ratna Sanman – for promoting knowledge, culture, and education in alignment with the vision of Rabindranath Tagore.
These awards are not just personal achievements — they are symbols of the collective effort of my family, students, and well-wishers who stood by me.
Life for me is about honesty, hard work, and service. I believe that when you educate a child, you plant the seed for a better future. My aim has always been to contribute to society through the noble path of teaching and to guide the younger generation towards responsible and meaningful lives.
Growing up in Urali taught me the values of simplicity and respect for nature. My life's work is dedicated to preserving these values while adapting to the changing world.
Looking back, I feel proud and grateful for the life I have lived. From humble beginnings in Urali to being recognized for my work in education, my journey has been one of determination, persistence, and the unwavering belief in the power of education.
The blessings of my parents, the companionship of my wife, the love of my children, and the trust of my students are the real rewards of my life. I continue to look forward to serving society, imparting knowledge, and inspiring the next generation.
